BEWARE!: GREEK? HEBREW? ARAMAIC? ENGLISH?...

Those who malign the Greek New Testament don’t have a clue what they’re talking about!

BACKGROUND-FACTS:

     During the 1st century AD (aside from Israel & the Syriac region) most Jews, in fact most of the population of the Jews in the world, didn’t speak Hebrew/Aramaic; most all of them did however speak Greek. While the early Rabbinic writings don’t speak well of the Greek language, yet over the centuries since the time of the Grecian Empire and it’s offshoots, Greek had become a universal trade language (mush as English is so universal in use today; & perhaps even more so with Greek back then), and it was well known in Israel, and especially in the North (HaGalil) region. In fact some of the later Rabbinic writings themselves employ Greek. The Disciples/Apostles would have been familiar with Greek, especially those from Galilee, and even some perhaps from their prior occupations were able to write in Greek (especially Luke, and most probably even Matthew the Tax-Collector).

     After so many years since Yeshua/Jesus Messiah’s Resurrection, the Disciples/Apostles found themselves in the situation where myriads of Greek speaking Jews and Gentiles in the Diaspora were coming to faith in Yeshua in Congregations in many countries. - Since it was YHVH’s Will, and Yeshua’s Command, to fulfill the ‘Great Commission’ of spreading the Good-News/Gospel throughout the world – to the Jew first and also to the Greek/(Gentile). - It was soon obvious that short of the impossible task of teaching the entire world how to speak Hebrew/Aramaic: Communications and spreading the Gospel would have to be accomplished by choosing the one language which had the most universal understanding amongst the majority of the then known world…Greek. – And which would remain the one language that would reach more people than any other for centuries to come.

     It was fortunate for them (and for us) that the language that was spoken in the world at large then was Greek, and not some other; since: Greek is/was one of the most precise and scientific languages there is (especially compared to English, which is a sloppy, imprecise composite-language). If one takes the time to actually compare the Greek texts to the few Hebrew portions we have and the Biblical-Aramaic texts of the N.T., if they’d admit it, it will be noted that the literal Greek in certain cases actually has even more of a Biblical-Judaic meaning, and this is in part because it is such a precise language. It is also interesting and important to note that the Greek dialect used in the Majority/(Eastern) Greek manuscripts is Koinine-Greek (not Classical Greek), which was a specific dialect that was used in 1st Century AD Israel.

     BEWARE then those who’d malign the Greek New Testament!...Them telling you what’s wrong, and how you need their ‘expert superior’ guidance to understand what YHVH is trying to tell you -(Yet amusingly most of them doing so in English…as most of them are not at all proficient in Greek, nor even in Hebrew/Biblical-Aramaic)- many of them simply being motivated by a buck &/or a need to make a name for themselves.

     ADVICE: While the above is only a thumbnail sketch of what could be said on this matter; yet considering the above, my advice to you when confronted with this is: RUN FOREST RUN !  :-)


[PLEASE NOTE: However, I'm not saying that the Biblical-Aramaic, and the small portions of Hebrew for the N.T. that we have, don't have any value. Please read what I wrote carefully in context. This post was dealing with those who come against the Greek New Testament Scripture.]

                   The World & The Limbo Church...

SEEING WHAT's GOING ON IN THE NEWS AND EVERYWHERE TODAY: Much of the world, especially the USA, and most of Europe, has basically become little more than a God-less walking-talking crotch ! Operating just above the level of animal instincts at best; yet all the while self-deceived into thinking they are gods...and much of the 'church' has followed right along with them ! –
     Years back I had a dream where Satan stood outside the door of Believers' houses with a worldly limbo-pole. Each day as the Believers left their homes Satan lowered that pole a little more, and many/(most) Believers would day by day bend a little more to bow under that pole and go about their daily routine.
     I'd suggest that pole is now swiftly approaching to the lowest rung !

THERE ARE TWO DITCHES along the Straight & Narrow Path: "LAWlessness -&- Legalism". Many "Christians" & "Messianics" travel in these two courses off to the sides; both being convinced they are headed in the right direction as these two ruts are so deep and well traveled. As they wander along each group hurls rocks at the other side to cause injury. -{My concern is for the small child walking on the Straight Path who may be struck by them.}- Where are you?!
